This is a rare chance to see a truly historic document — an early version of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, in his own handwriting.  In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Schomburg branch of the NY Public Library has a free four day exhibit of this historic document, September 21-24.

While NYPL exhibits are normally open on an as-you-wish basis, this one requires reservations for a specific time and date. Click here to reserve your day and time. The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is at 135th St. and Lenox Ave./Malcolm X Blvd.
