Learn to swing dance for FREE on Sunday at this special session for beginners at the JCC on the Upper West Side. The free lessons are at 1 p.m, There also are ticketed one-hour classes later in the day– true beginners at 7:30 p.m., followed by the next level at 8:30 p.m. You don’t need a partner, just comfortable shoes and the desire to turn one of those left feet into a right one. JCC is Amsterdam Ave. at 76th Street.
Also tonight, is the monthly Sock Hop Sunday at Cafe Iguana on West 54th St. DJs spin real old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll from the 50s and 60s, recorded by guys named Elvis and Fats, and groups named The Supremes, The Platters, and my own personal favorite, The Del Vikings.
Remember — dancing is not a spectator sport. See you on the dance floor!
