The Third Annual Ice Cream Sunday event at New Amsterdam Market on Sunday, August 19th includes local artisanal ice cream makers The Bent Spoon, Dream Scoops, Early Bird Cookery, Il Buco, ESCA, Luca & Bosco, Marlow & Sons, La Newyorkina, Rouge Tomate, Steve’s Ice Cream, and Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream. This is a fund-raiser for the weekend food market, at the South Street Seaport, and a ticketed event for tastings. Early Bird admission, from noon to 4 PM, is $30 and gives ticket holders a head start on sampling the unique ice cream flavors created just for the Market; General Admission begins at 1PM. Click here for tickets. This year’s Ice Cream Sunday will also feature a special book signing by Laura Weiss, author of the new book Ice Cream: A Global History. Only ticket-holders get ice cream tastes, but entrance to the rest of New Amsterdam Market vendors is free.
