Save the date — Thursday, Sept 6th — for the fourth annual Fashion’s Night Out, a worldwide night of late shopping and fashion-related events, sponsored by the Council of Fashion Designers and Vogue magazine. Participating retailers in New York City and in other participating cities around the world stay open until nearly midnight, with in-store demonstrations, free samples, and often champagne. This is a worldwide fashion party, happening the same day in fashionable cities from Milan and Paris to Miami and Hollywood. Check the Fashion’s Night Out website periodically for updates, and keep up on Twitter, with the #FNONYC hashtag, as designers, boutiques and department stores register and sign-up. Last year, for the first time this year, there was an FNO app for both iPhone and Android to help you navigate around the best events and shopping deals, but there’s no word yet whether that is available this year, too. In NYC last year, Fashion’s Night Out included free pedicab rides for tired shoppers, and a party atmosphere all around town.
