More than 1,800 artists across Brooklyn will open their studios to the public the weekend of September 8-9. More than an opportunity to see how artwork is created and what a real studio looks and smells like, this is a special program, so that visitors can can decide who will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. The ten artists with the most votes will get their works exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum in December, 2012. How often do you get to decide what is shown at a museum? Click here for a charming — and artistic video — with instructions, including the list of artists and Brooklyn neighborhoods where they work, so you can can find studios or a specific type of art that interests you, and begin mapping your itinerary. You must visit in person. This is one contest where only the instructions are online.  Thanks to Brooklyn artist Leon Kalas, who is participating, for letting NYCOTC know about this program. GO is a community-curated open art project, with the Brooklyn Museum.
