NYC free and cheap events: weekend street fairs

Let”s hope the weather cooperates for these NYC street fairs this weekend –

Saturday –

• Festival of the Americas –  10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sixth Avenue (which most New Yorkers  refuse to call Avenue of the Americas), 42nd to 56th Street

Sunday –

• Madison Avenue Summer Fair — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Madison Avenue, 42nd to 57th Streets
• Columbus Avenue Fair — noon to 5 p.m., 66th to 72nd Street
• Dragon Boat Festival Family Day — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Museum of Chinese in America, 215 Centre Street.  Music and story telling, calligraphy workshops, learn to make a dragon boat out of folded paper, more.  $10; free for museum members.  Museum website
