Scam alert: If you get an email claiming to be from Intuit, publishers of Turbo Tax products, with the subject line “tax information needed within 30 days”, do not open the email. It is a fraud and/or a virus. I got one of those emails the other day from an address email@example.com, and knew instantly it was a fraud or a spoof or whatever they call it these days. That was confirmed when I went on the Intuit website, and saw an official warning about this fraudulent email. If you get — or got — one of these fraudulent emails, do not open it, just forward it to firstname.lastname@example.org, and then purge the fraudulent email from the bad guys, along with the advisory you forwarded to the good guys.
