scan my photos, scan film negatives, scan videotape into DVDAll of us have vintage slides, film negatives and and 1/2″ VCR videotape cassettes of family memories that we would hate to lose.  So gather up the shoeboxes and send them to one of the services that scan your photos and tape cassettes while they are still readable and scanable.  Groupon has two national deals to turn your film and tape, even floppy discs,  into CD, DVD and MP3.

  • ScanDigital will provide $100 of digital scanning services for $40.  Just about the only things they don’t accept for scanning into DVDs are hard drives and digital frames.  This voucher deal expires Sunday, Sept. 4.

A couple of years ago, I had some of my videotapes from my previous life as on-air consumer reporter at WABC TV “Eyewitness News” turned into DVDs.  Glad I did.  Next project is a shelf full of old family photo albums.
