Evelyn Kanter websiteOpera in the park.  Grand opera in Central Park. The New York Grand Opera performs what is arguably the most famous and most beautiful opera of them all, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, FREE at the Naumberg Bandshell in Central Park, Wednesday, August 3rd at 7:30 p.m.  The bandshell is mid-park at 72nd Street.  Get there early for a seat close to the action on stage, and please no talking during the performance, especially during my absolutely favorite piece of music ever written, the aria Un Bel Di (One Fine Day).
