The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra is one of New York City’s most popular dance bands, playing 30s, 40s and 50s favorites.  Put on your dancing shoes and join them Thursday, June 16th at Tian at the Riverbank.  They’re playing two sets — 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., and 9:30 to 10:30, and there’s a swing dance lesson in between.  For dancing only, the cover charge is just $10.  But if you’re having dinner at Tian, there’s no charge.  Tian is at 145th Street and the Hudson River, in Riverbank State Park.  Take the #1 Broadway line to 145th Street, walk two blocks into Riverbank State Park or hop on the MTA #19 Silver Limousine, which stops in front of the restaurant. The Harlem Renaissance Orchestra also is playing again next week, Thursday, June 23rd.  Even if you have two left feet, and would rather listen and watch than dance yourself, I promise those left feet will be tapping to the uptempo classics.
