Free Lecture on Japanese Cartoon Animation

The word ‘anime’ is  short for Japanese “animation.”  This cartoon style has been around as early 1917 and exploded in popularity in Japan  in the 1960s.  Learn more about it, and find out how it is different from the such American animation styles of Disney, Pixar and Avatar at a free lecture at the Mid-Manhattan Branch of the New York Public Library, 455 Fifth Avenue.  The free lecture in on Wednesday, Sept. 1, from  8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
