The annual Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival of free concerts and dance performances just got underway, and there’s something happening every day through August 15th. Most events are in and around the main plaza at Lincoln Center or in the Damrosch Park Bandshell. Here is some of what’s happening this weekend:
The 27th annual Roots of Amerirican Music Festival, featuring the Motown sound, with performances by Motor City Review and the Detroit Stompers. Performances are at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday, July 31st and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at Damrosch Park Bandshell. On Sunday, August 1st, performances feature “their royal hipness” including Sandra Bernhard and Shel Silverstein.
Saturday, August 7th is Family Day, with puppet shows and more.
