Free Books for Kids at Borders

Children who read ten books this summer can get one free book from Borders, through August 26th.  It’s a great deal on several levels — it rewards kids for reading, and the free book helps the family budget.  Borders is calling it the Summer Double Dare. It is for kids 12 and under only.  Very simple — just list the books you’ve read on the form,  and pick your freebie from one of ten kid’s books being offered, which include Flat Stanley and Ramona the Brave.  The ten books your child lists do not have to be purchased at Borders — they can be borrowed from the library or from a best friend.

Thanks to Borders for this great way to encourage kids to read.  .  And while you are in your neighborhood Borders bookstore, head over to the NYC travel section and pick up my NYC guidebook, Peaceful Places NYC: 129 Tranquil Sites.
