The Coney Island Cyclone is an icon, and one that almost always lands in the list of the top ten roller coasters in the world, even though newer rides hit higher speeds and have steeper loops. This is a classic wooden roller coaster, with a first drop of 85 feet and speeds of 60 mph, and you can see the Atlantic Ocean while you ride, if you manage to open your eyes. New York Post reporter Michael Riedel starts every summer season by getting all shook up on the Cyclone.
