Get out of town for less on Virgin America. The airline has just slashed fares from New York City to $99 and $109 each way. For this bargain price, there are limitations, which include travel only Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, and you have to book by Dec. 29th and have to leave by Jan. 31. The $99 fares are to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas. Friday and Sunday fares are $10 to $20 more. There’s free Wi-Fi on flights through Jan. 15. I just flew Virgin America for the first time and was suitably impressed by the sparkling new planes and comfortable seating. But since it was the red-eye back from Los Angeles, I can’t tell you about the Wi-Fi or the movies and TV on board, since I dozed the whole way back to the Big Apple.
