You have been taking advantage of the holiday sales and bought yourself or a family member a new winter coat. So give the old one away to the needy. The annual New York Cares coat drive runs the entire month of December, from December one to December 31, and there are hundreds of places around The Big Apple where you can donate:
- New York City Police precincts
- The U.S. Coast Guard Recruiting and Service Center, next to the Staten Island Ferry terminal in Lower Manhattan
- Janovic Paint & Decorating Centers
- Oz Moving and Storage locations
- The Pond at Bryant Park, 42nd Street and Sixth Ave.
- Time Warner Cable Stores
Also, during morning commuter hours, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., you can bring donations here:
